Tropar of the Pre-Feast of Theophany, Tone 4

Make ready, Zebulon and prepare Nephtali. You Jordan River, stop your flow and receive with great joy the Master coming to be baptized. You, Adam, rejoice with the First Mother Eve and hide not as you did in Paradise. For at the sight of your nakedness Christ has come to clothe you with the robe of innocence. Christ has appeared to renew all creation.

Tropar of the Circumcision, Tone 1

Jesus, enthroned on high together with Your Eternal Father and Divine Spirit, You condescended to be born on earth of a Maiden and Virgin Mother. And on the eighth day You were circumcised. Glory to Your most noble decision. Glory to Your plan of salvation. Glory to Your condescension, Lord, Who alone loves mankind.

Tropar of St. Basil, Tone 1

Your voice has gone out to all the earth and it has received your word. By it you taught divine doctrine making the nature of things, which exist, clear and giving good order to human behavior. Venerable Father and Royal Priest Basil, intercede with Christ our God, that He may save our souls.

Kondak of the Pre-Feast of Theophany, Tone 4

Today, the Lord has appeared at the waters of the Jordan River. He cries out to John, saying: "Be not afraid at having to baptize Me, for I have come to save Adam, the First-created One!"

Glory …
Kondak of the Circumcision, Tone 3

Today, the Lord of all endures circumcision and His Goodness purifies the sins of mortals and grants salvation to the world. Therefore, Basil the priest and torchbearer of the Creator, the divine mystic of Christ, rejoices on high.

Now and Ever …
Kondak of St. Basil, Tone 4

You appeared as an unshakable foundation of the Church passing down an inviolate dominion to all mortals, sealing it with your teachings, Venerable Basil, revealer of Heaven.

Choir: My mouth shall speak wisdom and the meditation of my heart understanding.

Epistles

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Second Letter of St. Paul to Timothy.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brother Timothy, be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Colossians.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

Deacon: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading is from the Letter of St. Paul to the Hebrews.

Deacon: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brethren, for such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people's, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever. Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

Priest: Peace be with you.

Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

Alleluia Verses

Verse: May God be gracious to us and bless us.

Verse: May God's Face shine upon us.

Verse: Shepherd of Israel, hear us, you are the One Who leads Joseph's flock.

Communion Hymns

Praise the Lord from the heavens, praise Him in the highest. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

The Righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. They shall not be afraid of any evil report. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.
