Priest. Let us be attentive. Pease be with you all.
Reader: And with your spirit. The Prokimen in tone 3. Sing praises to our God, sing praises! / Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
Verse: Clap your hands, all ye people! Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
Priest: Wisdom!
Reader: The reading from the letter of Apostle Paul to the Romans. Priest: Let us be attentive.
Reader: Brothers, having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus Christ our Lord.
Priest: Peace be with you reader.
Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. In Thee, have I placed my hope; let me not be put to shame!
Verse: Be Thou a God of protection for me, a house of refuge, in order to save me.

On the Psychology of Schism
"Behold how good it is for brothers to dwell as one" (Psalms 133:1). Unity and one-mindedness are important aspects of the Christian life. St Paul tells us repeatedly that the Church is the Body of Christ (Colossians 1:18). As parts of this body we must work together. This implies, then, that we are interconnected (to use a popular term). The analogy of the body also implies that the Church is living and therefore dynamic. St Paul says that the Grace of the Holy Spirit enlivens the church like a man’s spirit enlivens his body.
We know that in modern biology, a living organism is a complex system of information requiring cooperation of all its parts. Disease, be it physical or mental, disrupts this unity. The body, being dynamic, naturally works with diverse influences that may appear to be contrary. In mental life we often have contrary desires or thoughts. When this happens we may even have a personal crisis. If one works through it well, one will come up with a different way of thinking or behaving, many times for the better. If the crisis cannot be resolved in a creative and healthy way, a person may end up broken, sometimes for life.

St. John’s 81st Annual “Ukrainian Days” Festival Information:
By now all Parish Members should have received the Ukrainian Day mailing. Please plan to share this weekend working together to host our community event. Sign-up sheets are posted in the Memorial Center for Saturday and Sunday. There has been a wonderful response to our work sessions so far. Please continue to support future sessions.
Ukrainian Day fliers are available in the Memorial Center for you to take and post in your neighborhood. Please remember to sell the raffle tickets to others and return the stubs as soon as possible. In addition, please send in your “Ukrainian Days Expense Fundraiser” donation.
Your talents are also requested to bake for our 2-day “Bake Sale” and to prepare a creative “Basket of Cheer” for our raffle.
The ability to participate in any or all of the above and using your God given talents is what being a member of St. John’s is all about. We hope to see you working, laughing, praying and enjoying all we are so fortunate to have and be simply “one Parish Family” for a weekend.
Yours in love and Christ, Mark Hatala and Bob Onysko (Co-chairpersons)
NEEDED: Chairperson for Children’s Games. Notify Mark Hatala or Bob Onysko to volunteer. In addition, Marty Sullivan will work with you for a smooth transition. Thanks Marty for your help!

Pray for the sick: The Lord said: “Do unto others as you would want them do unto you.” So if we will be sick, we will ask help from God, we will ask priests and people to pray for us. In order for the Lord to listen to us when we are sick, we need to pray for those who are sick. O Lord our God, Who by Your Word alone healed all diseases; Who cured the Mother-in-law of Apostle Peter; Who chastises with pity and heals according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity: Do You the same Lord, now relieve Your servants: John Buchma, Charles Stasko, Stephanie Sabath, Doris Okrepkie, Susan Cosner, Paul Chebiniak, John Glowa, John Tylko, Evelyn Kanazawich, Robert Kocak, Audrey Klym, Michael Hovancik, Kevin Terpak, Mildred Charnetsky, Mary & Walter Gulachok, Mary Gormish, Olga Gooley, Mary Ford, John Mihalko, Margaret Klish, Marlyn Klish, Cypryan Klish II, Sophia Malowicky, Genevieve Sadowitz, Anne and Karen Girnis, Julie Sadowitz, Catherine Dobransky, Pelahia Kit, Stephania Moroz, Mildred Bogdan, Wasyl Krawecki, Meghan Scannell, Olga Drost, Marion Kaspryk, Nicholas Corba, and cure them of the sicknesses which grieves them; lift them up from their beds of pain, sending down upon them Your mercy; and if it be Your will, give to them health and a complete recovery. For You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You we ascribe glory: to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit now and ever and unto ages of ages Amen.

Please let Father know who is in need of visiting, prayers or receiving of sacraments. Visits can be any time. Dear brothers and sisters for those who do not attend confession (repentance) and Holy Communion, please participate in these sacraments. This is for your own salvation, for the remission of sins and life everlasting.
***************************************************************
Please give Father any information or announcements that you would like to publish in the Sunday’s bulletin, before Friday of that week. This way all parishioners will know about St. John’s events. Thank you.
