Priest. Let us be attentive. Pease be with you all.

Reader: And with your spirit. The Prokimen in tone 5. Thou, O Lord shall protect us / and preserve us from this generation for ever!

Verse: Save me, O Lord, for there is no longer any that is godly.

Priest: Wisdom!

Reader: The reading from the Acts of the Apostle.

Priest: Let us be attentive.

Reader: Brothers, now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities. And they brought them to the magistrates, and said, “These men, being Jews, exceedingly trouble our city; and they teach customs which are not lawful for us, being Romans, to receive or observe.” Then the multitude rose up together against them; and the magistrates tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with rods. And when they had laid many stripes on them, they threw them into prison, commanding the jailer to keep them securely. Having received such a charge, he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet in the stocks. But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed. And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.” Then he called for a light, ran in, and tell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved“? So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized. Now when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them; and he rejoiced, having believed in God with all his household.

Priest: Peace be with you reader.

Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. I will sing of Thy mercies, O Lord, for ever, with my mouth I will proclaim Thy truth from generation to generation.

Verse: For Thou has said: “Mercy will be established for ever, and My truth will be prepared in the heavens.”

Holy Apostle and Evangelist John

Dear Father Zinoviy and members of the parish family: Christ is Risen!

It is with a profound sense of gratitude that I write to you this short note expressing my sincerest appreciation for your kind greetings on the accession of my consecration to the august and most responsible rank and authority of Bishop, successor to the Apostles and witness to the words and deeds of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

While reflecting on my election and consecration, I cannot stop repeating the words of righteous Elizabeth: “Why is this granted to me?” There are two strong feelings that fight inside in me: one of them is a realization of my unworthiness and the other is total faith in our Lord’s Guidance.

My faith journey to our Lord’s Holy Church has not been an easy one. I have encountered a lot of trials and tribulations. From the days of youth, when I was growing up in Soviet Ukraine and the very first Holy Confession and Communion in a small town in Ukraine, from a seminary desk to the very first Divine Liturgy, I always felt the support of Him, I try to serve with every fiber of my being - and I have been sustained.

I humbly thank you for the generous gift of love. Please, relate my prayerful gratitude and greetings to the entire membership of the parish community, the parish board of administration and various parish organizations.

Realizing my unworthiness for future service to His Church, where it is necessary to “be diligent to present myself approved to God…” (2 Tim. 2:15), where it is important to “Preach the word… be ready in season and out of season to convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching” (2 Tim. 4:2), in fear I relay on the guidance of the Holy Spirit and with a child-like attitude I beg you to remember me in your prayers.

With prayers and love in Christ, + Daniel by the Grace of God, bishop.

Pray for the sick: The Lord said: “Do unto others as you would want them do unto you.” So if we will be sick, we will ask help from God, we will ask priests and people to pray for us. In order for the Lord to listen to us when we are sick, we need to pray for those who are sick. O Lord our God, Who by Your Word alone healed all diseases; Who cured the Mother-in-law of Apostle Peter; Who chastises with pity and heals according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity: Do You the same Lord, now relieve Your servants: Josephine Baranyk, John Buchma, Charles Stasko, Doris Okrepkie, Susan Cosner, Paul Chebiniak, John Glowa, John Tylko, Evelyn Kanazawich, Robert Kocak, Audrey Klym, Michael Hovancik, Kevin Terpak, Mildred Charnetsky, Mary & Walter Gulachok, Mary Gormish, Olga Gooley, Mary Ford, John and Mary Mihalko, Margaret Klish, Marlyn Klish, Cypryan Klish II, Sophia Malowicky, Genevieve Sadowitz, Anne and Karen Girnis, Julie Sadowitz, Catherine Dobransky, Pelahia Kit, Stephania Moroz, Mildred Bogdan, Wasyl Krawecki, Meghan Scannell, Olga Drost, Marion Kaspryk, Nicholas Corba, and cure them of the sicknesses which grieves them; lift them up from their beds of pain, sending down upon them Your mercy; and if it be Your will, give to them health and a complete recovery. For You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You we ascribe glory: to the Father, to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit now and ever and unto ages of ages Amen.
