Priest: Let us be attentive! Peace be with you all!

Reader: And with your spirit! Priest: Wisdom!

Reader: The Prokimen on tone 4. O lord, how manifold are Thy works / In wisdom hast Thou made them all!

Verse: Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, Thou art very great!

Priest: Wisdom! Reader: The reading from the second letter of Apostle Peter Priest: Let us be attentive

Reader: Brothers, therefore be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For this reason I will not be negligent to remind you always of these things, though you know and are established in the present truth. Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease. For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty. For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain. And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.

Priest: Peace be with you reader. Reader: And with your spirit. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. Verse: The heavens are Thine; the earth is also Thine!

Verse: Blessed are the people who know the festal shout!

CONSECRATION OF ST. SOFIA SEMENARY CHAPEL AND IGRUATION OF ACADEMIC YEAR.

With gratitude to Almighty God, the Master of the harvest, I am pleased to invite you, dear and venerable Fathers and brothers and sisters in Christ, to the consecration of a completely renovated Three Hierarchs Chapel of Saint Sofia Seminary, the blessing of the seminary edifice and the inauguration of the 2007-2008 Academic Year on Saturday, September 15, 2007. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated in the Seminary Chapel at 9:30 AM. As you will witness, the major renovations, which include a new Iconostasis and icons accomplished by Fr. Todor Mazur and his parishioners, are stunning. Major renovations have also made to the seminary edifice itself, which dated 1840.

The grace of God, always with us, has brought to this academic year of priestly education and formation five young seminarians from Ukraine’s

Ivano - Frankivsk Diocesan family, shepherded by His Eminence Metropolitan Andrij. We earnestly pray that this arrival of vocations will activate a response to Christ’s invitation, “Come, follow me!” by mature minded men of our Church here in the USA. Our new seminarians will be introduced to our faithful during the day.

Parish families are respectfully requested to participate in this sacred and historical event and to, by generous donations, assist in defraying the cost of renovations, which were sorely needed. Your kindness will be appreciated immensely.

Clergy and members of their parish families are cordially invited to a family picnic and barbecue, which will occur after the solemnities on the Seminary grounds. Please attempt to organize vans or even a bus to bring faithful to the celebration. We will ask parish families here in the East to provide food or other items for the picnic. Someone from Seminary will contact you to determine what your family can bring. Anticipating your honored presence and participation, I remain, In our Lord,

+ Constantine Metropolitan and President of the Seminary Board of Regents.

P.S. Dear parishioners tomorrow during the parish board meeting we will discuss if it is possible to go to this great event as a group from our parish. We should leave on that day from Johnson City at 7am.

***************************************************************

Dear parishioners, five years ago on August 18th I was signed to this parish by Archbishop Antony and became a Spiritual Father for you and served my first Divine Liturgy here at St. John’s. We have become like one family here with you. Thank you for your prayers and support. May God bless all of us to continue to do good work in His holy name.

Pray for the sick. The Lord said: “Do unto others as you would want them do unto you.” So if we will be sick, we will ask help from God, we will ask priests and people to pray for us. In order for the Lord to listen to us when we are sick, we need to pray for those who are sick. O Lord our God, Who by Your Word alone healed all diseases; Who cured the Mother-in-law of Apostle Peter; Who chastises with pity and heals according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity: Do You the same Lord, now relieve Your servants: Fr. Michael Michalopolos, Robert Kocak, Audrey and Eugene Klym, Michael Hovancik, Valerie Melnychenko, Kevin Terpak, Emilia Lewkowicz, Mildred Charnetsky, Mary & Walter Gulachok, Mary Gormish, Olga Gooley, Mary Ford, Mary Mihalko, Margaret Klish, Marlyn Klish, Cypryan Klish II, Sophia Malowicky, Genevieve Sadowitz, Michael Sr. Duby, Anne and Karen Girnis, Julie Sadowitz, Catherine Dobransky, Pelahia Kit, Stephania Moroz, Mildred Bogdan, Wasyl Krawecki, Meghan Scannell, Olga Drost, Marion Kaspryk, Nicholas Corba, and cure them of the sicknesses which grieves them; lift them up from their beds of pain, sending down upon them Your mercy; and if it be Your will, give to them health and a complete recovery. For You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You we ascribe glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, Amen.
