: Brethren, God who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, by grace you have been saved, and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.Priest: Peace be with you reader. Reader: And with your spirit. Dear Parish Family, Thanks to your love and support it is good to be back at St. John’s. I have complete my (6) weeks of Chemo and Radiation Therapy and hopefully Monday will bring good news of success with both. What lies ahead is still unknown but with a positive attitude and my Faith I’m sure I/we’ll get through it and rid this disease from my body. The thoughts, prayers, cards and letters are most appreciated, especially from the little ones! To be apart of such a caring and concerned Parish family is something each of us has been blessed with. Thank you again, each and every one, for your continued love and support! /Sincerely, Scott Shirk/

In order for the Lord to listen to us when we are sick, we need to pray for those who are sick. O Lord our God, Who by Your Word alone healed all diseases; Who cured the Mother-in-law of Apostle Peter of fever; Who chastises with pity and heals according to Your goodness; Who are able to put aside every malady and infirmity: Do You the same Lord, now relieve Your servants: Fr. For You are the Physician of our souls and bodies, and to You we ascribe glory: to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto ages of ages, Amen.
